The Nevada patient dumping case was the first thing I handled as the press contact a few days after joining the City Attorney's Office. Boom -- trial by fire, and no mistake. Here was the press release I drafted that we sent out upon launching the suit, which generated nationwide and even international media coverage in the ensuing weeks. I really believe that the lawsuit, and the coverage it generated, are changing the way we serve the mentally ill in the U.S. It's a movement I'm proud to have played a small part in.
